Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Monterrey

The Archdiocese of Monterrey (Latin: Archidioecesis Monterreyensis, Spanish: Arquidiócesis de Monterrey ) is a location in Mexico Roman Catholic archdiocese headquartered in Monterrey.

History

The Archdiocese of Monterrey was posted on December 15, 1777 by Pope Pius VI. built with the Papal Bull relata sempervirens from cessions of territory of the diocese of Michoacán as a diocese Linares o Nueva León and the Archdiocese of Mexico City is a suffragan. In 1839 the Diocese of Nueva León Linares o from parts of its territory establishing the Apostolic Prefecture of Texas. A further transfer of territory took place on August 13, 1861 establishing the Apostolic Vicariate of Tamaulipas. On January 26, 1863 the Diocese of Nueva León Linares o was the Archdiocese of Guadalajara is a suffragan. The Diocese of Linares o Nueva Leon announced on June 23, 1891 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Saltillo.

On June 23, 1891, the Diocese of Nueva León Linares o was by Pope Leo XIII. raised to an archbishopric. The Archdiocese of Nueva León Linares o was renamed on June 9, 1922 in Archdiocese of Monterrey. On April 30, 1962, the Archdiocese of Monterrey was from parts of its territory to the creation of cotidie with the Apostolic Constitution Proficientibus erected Diocese of Linares. A further transfer of territory took place on 6 November 1989 establishing the built with the Apostolic Constitution Quo facilius diocese Nuevo Laredo.
