Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark

Located in the United States Newark Archdiocese (Latin: Archidioecesis Novarcensis ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic church located in Newark, New Jersey. It includes the counties of Essex, Bergen, Hudson and Union.

History

On July 29, 1853 newly erected Diocese of Newark from the dioceses of New York and Philadelphia has been solved. From 1881 to 1937, the dioceses of Trenton and Paterson were built. On December 10, 1937, were placed under the raised to an archbishopric Diocese of Newark.
