Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Pescara-Penne

The Archdiocese of Pescara - Penne ( Latin: Archidiocesis Piscariensis - Pinnensis ) is a located in Italy Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic church located in Pescara.

It was founded in the 5th century as the Diocese of Penne. United Already on March 15, 1252 with the Diocese of Atri, it became the independent bishopric of Penne- Atri. The diocese still changed his name in 1949 to the diocese of Penne Pescara and became a bishopric immediates, that belonged to no church province. On 2 March 1982, the diocese changed its name not only in the diocese of Penne Pescara, but at the same time was also raised to an archdiocese and metropolitan see and the suffragan diocese of Teramo - Atri.
