Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Puerto Montt

The Archdiocese of Puerto Montt (Latin: Portus Montt Archidioecesis, Spanish: Arquidiócesis de Puerto Montt ) is a located in Chile Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic church located in Puerto Montt.

History

The diocese of Puerto Montt was founded on April 1, 1939 by Pope Pius XII. built with the Apostolic Constitution Summi Pontificatus of cessions of territory of the Diocese of San Carlos de Ancud. It was the Archdiocese of Concepción is a suffragan. The diocese announced on November 15, 1955 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Osorno.

On 10 May 1963, the Diocese of Puerto Montt by Pope John XXIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Apostolicae Sedis to an archbishopric.
