Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Santa Fe

The Archdiocese of Santa Fe (Latin: Sanctae Archidioecesis Fidei in America Septentrionali; Administrative abbreviation SFE ) is a located in the United States Roman Catholic diocese based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

History

The Archdiocese of Santa Fe was founded on July 23, 1850 by Pope Pius IX. established as a diocese of Santa Fe from the Archdiocese of Saint Louis out. 1868 territories were ceded to the founding of the Apostolic Vicariate Apostolic Vicariate of Arizona and Colorado and Utah. On 12 February 1875, the survey was conducted to the archbishopric. 1939, the Diocese of Gallup and 1982, the diocese of Las Cruces was founded territorial concessions.

The Archdiocese is a metropolitan and belongs to Region XIII ( AZ, CO, NM, UT, WY) of the U.S. Bishops' Conference. Imputed suffragan bishoprics are the Gallup, Las Cruces, Phoenix and Tucson.
