Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Uberaba

The Archdiocese of Uberaba (Latin: Archidioecesis Uberabensis ) is a located in Brazil Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Uberaba, Minas Gerais.

History

The Archdiocese of Uberaba was established on September 29, 1907 by Pope Pius X with the Apostolic Constitution Goyaz Adamantina out of territory of the Diocese of Goiás as Diocese of Uberaba. The diocese was the Archdiocese of Uberaba Mariana is a suffragan. On 18 July 1918, the Diocese of Uberaba were parts of its territory from the foundation of the diocese aterrado. The Diocese of Uberaba was the Archdiocese of Belo Horizonte assumed suffragan on 1 February 1924. On March 1, 1929, the Diocese of Uberaba gave parts of its territory establishing the Territorialprälatur Paracatu. For more territorial concessions were made on 5 April 1955 foundation of the diocese Patos de Minas and on July 22, 1961 foundation of the diocese Uberlândia.

On April 14, 1962, the Diocese of Uberaba was by Pope John XXIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution animorum societas to an archbishopric. The Archdiocese of Uberaba, on 16 October 1962 from parts of its territory to the foundation of the diocese Ituiutaba.
