Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Zamboanga

The Archdiocese of Zamboanga (Latin: Archidioecesis Zamboangensis ) is a location in the Philippines Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Zamboanga City.

History

The Archdiocese of Zamboanga was established on April 10, 1910 by Pope Pius X. territorial concessions from the dioceses of Cebu and Jaro as a diocese and the Archdiocese of Zamboanga Manila is a suffragan. On January 20, 1933, the Diocese of Zamboanga were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of Cagayan de Oro. The Diocese of Zamboanga was placed under the Archdiocese of Cebu as a suffragan on April 28, 1934. On June 29, 1951, the Diocese of Zamboanga was the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro is a suffragan.

The Diocese of Zamboanga was on 19 May in 1958 by Pope Pius XII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution quasi mater to an archbishopric. On 31 July 1967, the Archdiocese of Zamboanga were parts of its territory from the foundation of the diocese Dipolog.
