Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Zaragoza

The Archdiocese of Zaragoza (Latin: Archidioecesis Caesaraugustanus ) is a location in Spain Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Zaragoza.

History

The Archdiocese of Zaragoza was built in the 5th century as the Diocese of Zaragoza and the archbishopric of Tarragona was a suffragan. The diocese of Saragossa was posted on July 14, 1318 by Pope John XXII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Romanus Pontifex to an archbishopric. On July 31, 1577 Archdiocese of Zaragoza were parts of its territory from the foundation of the diocese of Teruel.
