The diocese Ahiara (Latin: Dioecesis Umuahianus ) is a location in Nigeria Roman Catholic diocese based in Ahiara.
History
The diocese Ahiara was established on November 18, 1987 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Dominici gregis out of territory of the Diocese of Owerri and the Archdiocese of Onitsha is a suffragan. First bishop was Victor Chikwe Adibe. The diocese Ahiara was placed under the Archdiocese of Owerri, suffragan on 26 March 1994.
