Roman Catholic Diocese of Annecy

Located in Annecy France diocese (Latin: Dioecesis Anneciensis ) was dissolved and become independent on 22 February 1822 the Archdiocese of Chambéry. This will continue under standing suffragan, it originally belonged once to the diocese of Geneva, and was the residence of the bishops of Geneva.

On 16 December 2002 it was placed under the Archdiocese of Lyon suffragan by Pope John Paul II.
