Roman Catholic Diocese of Austin
The Diocese of Austin (Latin: Dioecesis Austiniensis ) is a located in the United States Roman Catholic diocese based in Austin, Texas.
History
The Diocese of Austin was born on November 15, 1947 by Pope Pius XII. built with the Apostolic Constitution animarum ad bonum of cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of San Antonio and the Dioceses of Dallas and Galveston. It was the Archdiocese of San Antonio is a suffragan. On October 16, 1961, the Diocese of Austin were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of San Angelo. The Diocese of Austin was placed under the Archdiocese of Galveston - Houston, suffragan on December 29, 2004.
