The Diocese of Aveiro was born on August 24, 1938 by Pope Pius XI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Omnium Ecclesiarum of annexations of the dioceses Coimbra, Porto and Viseu and the Archdiocese of Braga, is a suffragan.
