Roman Catholic Diocese of Beaumont

The Diocese of Beaumont (Latin: Dioecesis Bellomontensis ) is located in Texas in the United States Roman Catholic diocese based in Beaumont.

History

Pope Paul VI. founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Hortatione illa on June 25, 1966 from the Diocese of Galveston - cessions of territory and Houston was the Archdiocese of San Antonio assumed as suffragan.

A part of its territory lost it on 12 December 1986 in favor of the establishment of the Diocese of Tyler. On 29 December 2004, it was part of the ecclesiastical province of Galveston - Houston.

The diocese covers the Counties Beaumont Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Newton, Orange, Polk, and Tyler of the state of Texas.
