Roman Catholic Diocese of Belleville
The Diocese of Belleville (Latin: Dioecesis bellevillensis ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church and is located in the U.S. state of Illinois, a bishopric is the city. The diocese was separated from the former diocese of Alton and built on 7 January 1887. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Chicago. First bishop of Belleville was from Germany native John Jansen since 2005 directs Edward Kenneth Braxton the diocese.
