The Diocese of Boise City (Latin: Dioecesis Xylopolitana ) is a located in the United States Roman Catholic diocese based in Boise, Idaho.

History

The Diocese of Boise City was born on March 3, 1863 by Pope Pius IX. out of territory of the Archdiocese of Oregon City built as Apostolic Vicariate of Idaho and Montana. On March 5, 1883, the Apostolic Vicariate of Idaho and Montana were from parts of its territory to the founding of the Apostolic Vicariate of Montana and was renamed the Apostolic Vicariate of Idaho. The Apostolic Vicariate of Idaho was posted on August 25, 1893 by Pope Leo XIII. raised to the bishopric and renamed Diocese Boise City.

The Diocese of Boise City is the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon is a suffragan.
