Roman Catholic Diocese of Broome

The Diocese of Broome (Latin: Dioecesis Broomensis ) is a location in Australia Roman Catholic diocese based in Broome in Western Australia.

History

By Pope Leo XIII. the Apostolic Vicariate of Kimberley in 1887 founded in Western Australia from the diocese of Perth out. Pius X, built of territorial cessions Mission Sui Iuris of 1910 Drisdale River ( 1971 Kalumburu ). By John XXIII. followed in 1959, a change of name to the Apostolic Vicariate of Kimberley, which had its headquarters in Beagle Bay.

1966, Pope Paul VI. the Apostolic Vicariate of the Diocese of Broome. 1980, by Pope John Paul II, the inclusion of the Mission Sui Iuris of Kalumburu.
