Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo

The Diocese of Buffalo (Latin: Dioecesis Buffalensis ) is a located in the United States Roman Catholic diocese based in Buffalo, New York.

History

The Diocese of Buffalo was born on April 23, 1847 by Pope Pius IX. built out of territory of the Diocese of New York and the Archdiocese of Baltimore is a suffragan. On 19 July 1850, Diocese of Buffalo was the Archdiocese of New York is a suffragan. The Diocese of Buffalo announced on March 3, 1868 parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Rochester. 1896 gave the bishopric of Buffalo from parts of its territory to the bishopric of Rochester.
