The diocese Castanhal (Latin: Dioecesis Castagnalensis de Pará ) is a location in Brazil the Roman Catholic Diocese based in Castanhal in the state of Pará.

History

The diocese Castanhal was built on December 29, 2004 Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Ad efficacius providendum of annexations of the Archdiocese of Belém do Pará and the Diocese of Bragança do Pará. It was the Archdiocese of Belém do Pará is a suffragan. First bishop was Carlos Verzeletti.
