The Diocese of Chimbote (Latin: Dioecesis Cimbotiensis ) is located in northern Peru Roman Catholic diocese based in Chimbote.

History

The Diocese of Chimbote was posted on November 26, 1962 by Pope John XXIII. built with the Apostolic Constitution Ecclesiae propositum as Territorialprälatur Chimbote. On April 6, 1983, the Territorialprälatur Chimbote was elevated by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Pastoralis cura to the diocese. The Diocese of Chimbote is the Archdiocese of Trujillo is a suffragan.
