Roman Catholic Diocese of Chinhoyi

The Diocese of Chinhoyi (Latin: Dioecesis Chinhoyiensis ) is a location in Zimbabwe Roman Catholic diocese based in Chinhoyi.

History

The mission was entrusted to the German Jesuits in 1958. Pope Paul VI. founded the Apostolic Prefecture Sinoia With the Apostolic Constitution Si Evangélicos fructus on 17 December 1973, cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Salisbury.

On June 25, 1982, she took the name, Chinhoyi Apostolic Prefecture on. With the bull Cum Praefectura it was raised on 28 October 1985 in the rank of diocese and it was the archbishopric Harare assumed as suffragan.

Territory

The Diocese of Chinhoyi comprises the districts of Guruve, Centenary, Mount Darwin and Rushinga ( north of the river Mazowe ) in the province of Mashonaland Central and the Makonde district, Hurungwe and Kariba ( east of the river Sanyo) in the province of Mashonaland West.
