Roman Catholic Diocese of Covington

The Diocese of Covington (Latin: Dioecesis Covingtonensis ) is a located in the United States Roman Catholic diocese based in Covington, Kentucky.

History

The Diocese of Covington was born on July 29, 1853 by Pope Pius IX. built out of territory of the Diocese of Louisville and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is a suffragan. On December 10, 1937, the Diocese of Covington was the Archdiocese of Louisville is a suffragan. The Diocese of Covington announced on January 14, 1988 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Lexington.
