Roman Catholic Diocese of Dallas

The Diocese of Dallas (Latin: Dioecesis Dalla Sensis ) is located in Texas in the United States Roman Catholic diocese based in Dallas.

History

The Diocese of Dallas was born on July 15, 1890 by Pope Leo XIII. built out of territory of the Diocese of Galveston. In 1891 the diocese of Dallas were assigned to parts of the territory of the Apostolic Vicariate of Arizona. On 20 October 1953, the Diocese of Dallas was renamed Diocese of Dallas -Fort Worth. The Diocese of Dallas -Fort Worth area was divided on 9 August 1969 in the dioceses of Dallas and Fort Worth. The Diocese of Dallas was in its history several times parts of its territory from the creation of new dioceses. It reports to the Archdiocese of San Antonio, suffragan.

The territory of the Diocese of Dallas covers the counties of Collin, Dallas, Ellis, Fannin, Grayson, Hunt, Kaufman, Navarro and Rockwall in northern Texas.
