Roman Catholic Diocese of Grand Island

Located in the USA Diocese of Grand Iceland (Latin: Dioecesis Insulae Grandis ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic church located in Grand Iceland, Nebraska. It was established on March 8, 1912 as diocese Kearney from areas of the Diocese of Omaha, from which it still was ceded additional areas on 13 May 1916.

The name of the diocese to the present name Grand Iceland was changed on 11 April 1917. As the Diocese of Omaha was elevated to archbishopric in 1945, Grand Iceland was this assumed as suffragan.

The territory of the Diocese of Grand Iceland today covers the areas of Buffalo County, Sherman County, Valley County, Garfield County, Loup County, Custer County, Blaine County, Brown County, Keya Paha County, Logan County, Thomas County, Hooker County, McPherson County, Grant County, Cherry County, rock County, Garden County, Deuel County, Morrill County, Cheyenne County, Kimball County, Banner County, Box Butte County, Scotts Bluff County, Sioux County, Dawes County and Sheridan County and parts of Dawson County, Lincoln County and Keith County.
