Roman Catholic Diocese of Hanyang

The Diocese of Hanyang (Latin: Dioecesis Haniamensis ) is a located in the People's Republic of China Roman Catholic diocese based in Hanyang. Since 1956, the diocese is vacant due to the difficulties between China's Communist regime and the Catholic Church.

History

The Diocese of Hanyang was posted on December 12, 1923 by Pope Pius XI. Quo Christianized from annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Eastern Hubei built with the Apostolic Constitution as Apostolic Prefecture of Hanyang. The Apostolic Prefecture Hanyang was born on July 14, 1927 by Pius XI. elevated to the Apostolic Vicariate.

The Apostolic Vicariate of Hanyang was posted on April 11, 1946 by Pope Pius XII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Hankow is a suffragan.
