Roman Catholic Diocese of Hanzhong

The Diocese of Hanzhong (Latin: Dioecesis Hanciomensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Hanzhong in the People's Republic of China.

History

Pope Leo XIII. founded the Apostolic Vicariate Südshaanxi on August 2, 1887 annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Shaanxi. On 2 March 1933, lost part of its territory to establish Apostolic Prefecture Xing'anfu.

With the Apostolic Constitution Sinarum it was raised on April 11, 1946 Diocese. In 1981 the secret Bishop Bartholomew Yu Cheng -ti was ordained, while Li Sheng - xue was the official bishop. Yu Chengde died on 14 September 2009, and his successor, Louis Yu Run -shen, which seems to be recognized by the Holy See.
