Roman Catholic Diocese of Kigoma

The Diocese of Kigoma (Latin: Dioecesis Kigomaënsis ) is a location in Tanzania Roman Catholic diocese based in Kigoma.

History

The Diocese of Kigoma was born on September 27, 1880 by Pope Leo XIII. cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate of Central Africa established as Apostolic Vicariate of Tanganyika. On May 10, 1946, the Apostolic Vicariate of Tanganyika were parts of its territory from establishing the Apostolic Vicariate Karema. The Apostolic Vicariate of Tanganyika was renamed on May 10, 1946 in Apostolic Vicariate of Kigoma.

On March 25, 1953, the Apostolic Vicariate of Kigoma was by Pope Pius XII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Quemadmodum ad Nos to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Tabora is a suffragan.
