The Diocese of La Crosse (Latin: Dioecesis Crossensis ) is a located in the United States Roman Catholic diocese based in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

History

The Diocese of La Crosse was born on March 3, 1868 by Pope Pius IX. built out of territory of the Diocese of Milwaukee. On February 12, 1875 Diocese of La Crosse was the Archdiocese of Milwaukee is a suffragan. The Diocese of La Crosse, on 3 May 1905 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Superior. A further transfer of territory on December 22, 1945 foundation of the diocese Madison.
