History

The Diocese of La Dorada Guaduas was established on 29 March 1984 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Quod iure Apostolica Sedes out of territory of the Archdiocese of Manizales and the bishoprics of Barrancabermeja and Facatativá. It was the Archdiocese of Manizales is a suffragan.
