Roman Catholic Diocese of Livingstone

The Diocese of Livingstone (Latin: Dioecesis Livingstonensis ) is a location in Zambia Roman Catholic diocese based in Livingstone. It includes part of the Province Southern Province.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded the Apostolic Prefecture of Victoria Falls with the Bull Quo in Rhodesiae Septentrionalis on May 25, 1936 annexations of the Apostolic Prefecture of Broken Hill. With the Apostolic Constitution Si qua enascens it was raised on 10 March 1950 in the rank of Apostolic Vicariate.

With the Apostolic Constitution Cum christiana fides, it was raised on 25 April 1959 in the rank of a bishopric, which was the Archdiocese of Lusaka is a suffragan. A part of its territory lost it on June 14, 1997 in favor of the Diocese of Mongu
