Roman Catholic Diocese of Matadi

The Diocese of Matadi (Latin: Dioecesis Matadiensis ) is a located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Roman Catholic diocese based in Matadi.

History

The Diocese of Matadi was established on July 1, 1911 by Pope Pius X. territorial concessions from the Apostolic Vicariate of Léopoldville as Apostolic Prefecture of Matadi. The Apostolic Prefecture of Matadi was July 23, 1930 by Pope Pius XI. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Nos quibus Apostolic Vicariate. On November 10, 1959, the Vicariate Apostolic of Matadi was by Pope John XXIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Cum parvulum to the diocese.

The Diocese of Matadi is the Archdiocese of Kinshasa is a suffragan.
