Roman Catholic Diocese of Patti

The Diocese of Patti (Latin: Dioecesis Pactensis ) is a diocese located in Sicily the Roman Catholic Church in Italy, based in Patti.

It belongs to the Ecclesiastical Province of Messina in the Church Region of Sicily and is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Messina - Lipari - Santa Lucia del Mela.

History

The Diocese of Patti was in 1399, when Pope Boniface IX. the Diocese of Lipari - Patti aufteilte. The Diocese of Patti situated on the island of Sicily territory of the former diocese was thereby assigned to the diocese of the Lipari Aeolian Islands.
