Roman Catholic Diocese of Plzeň

The Diocese of Pilsen ( Czech:: Biskupství Plzeňské or Plzeňská diecéze, Latin: Dioecesis Pilznensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese in western Bohemia.

The diocese was established on 31 May 1993 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Pro supremi Ecclesiae pastoris and assumed as suffragan to the Archdiocese of Prague.

In addition to the predominantly the Archbishop of Prague territories in West Bohemia and the Cheb region, came from the Diocese of Budweis 89 parishes with 155,000 inhabitants on the newly established Diocese of Plzeň. It was the Vicariate Domažlice area and parts of the Vicariate Klatovy and Nepomuk. Also parishes were issued in the west of the diocese Leitmeritz to Pilsen. In the spring of 2010, the diocese covers the Vicariate Domažlice, Cheb, Karlovy Vary, Klatovy, Pilsen city, Pilsen -South, Pilsen-north, Rokycany, Sokolov and Tachov.

First and only incumbent is Bishop František Radkovský.

Diocese Church is the St. Bartholomew 's Cathedral on the Square of the Republic in Pilsen. Patron of the diocese is the blessed Hroznata.
