Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence
The Diocese of Providence (Latin: Dioecesis Providentiensis ) is a located in the United States Roman Catholic diocese based in Providence, Rhode Iceland.
History
The Diocese of Providence was founded on February 16, 1872 by Pope Pius IX. built out of territory of the dioceses Boston and Hartford. On March 12, 1904, the Diocese of Providence was part of its territory from the foundation of the diocese Fall River.
It is the Archdiocese of Hartford is a suffragan.
