Roman Catholic Diocese of Ratchaburi

The Diocese of Ratchaburi (Latin: Dioecesis Ratchaburensis, Thai: สังฆมณฑล ราชบุรี ) is a Roman Catholic diocese in Thailand.

The diocese covers an area of ​​31,362 km ², which includes the provinces of Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi, Kanchanaburi Samut Songkhram and. As of 2001, Catholics of the 2.2 million inhabitants 15,246. History

The origins of the diocese are in the mission sui juris of Rajaburi, which was established in 1930. Three years earlier, Salesians of Don Bosco arrived in the region, which continued the missionary work begun by the Paris Mission. 1934 Mission Apostolic Prefecture was raised in 1941 to an apostolic vicariate. In 1965 it became the diocese Bangnokhuek, which was renamed in 1966 to the diocese Ratburi. In 1969, the southern part of the diocese was split off as diocese of Surat Thani.

Cathedral
