The Diocese of Sacramento (Latin: Dioecesis Sacramentensis ) is a located in the United States Roman Catholic diocese based in Sacramento, California.

History

The Diocese of Sacramento, on May 28 1886 Pope Leo XIII. built out of territory of the Archdiocese of San Francisco and the Diocese of Grass Valley and the Archdiocese of San Francisco, is a suffragan. On March 27, 1931, the Diocese of Sacramento gave parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Reno -Las Vegas. A further transfer of territory on January 13, 1962 on the establishment of the Diocese of Stockton. On September 15, 1966, the Diocese of Sacramento was off the area Alpine County to the bishopric of Stockton.
