Roman Catholic Diocese of San Carlos de Ancud

The Diocese of San Carlos de Ancud (Latin: Sancti Caroli Dioecesis Anduciae, Spanish: diócesis de San Carlos de Ancud ) is a diocese located in Chile of the Roman Catholic church located in Ancud.

History

The Diocese of San Carlos de Ancud was founded on July 1, 1840 by Pope Gregory XVI. built with the Papal Bull Ubi Primum out of territory of the Diocese of Concepción. The diocese was in its history several times parts of its territory from the creation of new dioceses. It is the Archdiocese of Puerto Montt is a suffragan.
