Roman Catholic Diocese of Sandomierz

The Diocese of Sandomierz (Latin: Dioecesis Sandomiriensis, poln: Diecezja Sandomierska ) is located in Poland Roman Catholic diocese based in Sandomierz.

History

The Diocese of Sandomierz was established on June 30, 1818 by Pope Pius VII with the Papal Bull Ex imposita nobis and the Archdiocese of Warsaw is a suffragan.

On 3 October 1981, the name of the diocese of Sandomierz was changed to Diocese of Sandomierz radome, but remains on in the Archdiocese of Warsaw.

On March 25, 1992, the Diocese of Sandomierz radome was divided by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Totus Tuus Poloniae populus in the dioceses of Sandomierz and Radom and the Diocese of Sandomierz now subordinate to the Archdiocese of Lublin as suffragan.
