Located in the USA Diocese of Savannah (Latin: Dioecesis Savannensis ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church. It was founded on July 3, 1850 with a size of 58,980 km ² in areas of the dioceses of Charleston and Mobile. As such, it was a diocese of the Ecclesiastical Province of Baltimore

Career

After January 5, 1937, changed its name to Savannah -Atlanta, it counted 30 922 Catholics in 1950 (1%) in 63 parishes with 38 diocesan priests, 91 religious priests and 295 nuns.

On July 2, 1956, the Diocese of Savannah and the newly established Diocese of Atlanta was divided, which the Diocese of Savannah is also subject to a suffragan since 10 February 1962.
