Roman Catholic Diocese of Å iauliai

The Diocese of Šiauliai (also: Diocese of Šiauliai, Latin: Dioecesis Siauliensis lit, Šiauliai vyskupija. ) Is a diocese in northern Lithuania, based in Šiauliai. It is the latest diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Lithuania.

History

The diocese is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Kaunas and was formed on 8 May 1997 from parts of the dioceses Panevėžys (in the east ), Kaunas ( in the south) and Telšiai.

Famous place of pilgrimage in the diocese is the Hill of Crosses.
