Roman Catholic Diocese of Teixeira de Freitas–Caravelas

The Diocese of Teixeira de Freitas Caravelas (Latin: Dioecesis Taxensis - Carabellensis ) is a located in Brazil Roman Catholic diocese based in Teixeira de Freitas, Bahia.

History

The Diocese of Teixeira de Freitas Caravelas was posted on July 21, 1962 by Pope John XXIII. built with the Apostolic Constitution Omnium Ecclesiarum of cessions of territory of the Diocese of Ilheus as Caravelas diocese. It was the Archdiocese of São Salvador da Bahia is a suffragan.

On April 18, 1983, the diocese was renamed the Diocese Caravelas Teixeira de Freitas Caravelas. The Diocese of Teixeira de Freitas Caravelas announced on June 12, 1996 parts of its territory from the foundation of the diocese Eunápolis.
