Roman Catholic Diocese of Valence

The Diocese of Valence (Latin: Dioecesis Valentinensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese in France, based in Valence, which has existed since the 4th century.

History

  • 1275: union with the diocese, the

  • 1822: Amendment to the Metropolitan diocese to Avignon.
  • 1911: Name changed to Diocese of Valence ( - The - Saint -Paul -Trois -Châteaux ).
  • 2002: Amendment to the Metropolitan diocese of Lyon.
