Roman Catholic Diocese of Viviers

The diocese of Viviers (Latin: Dioecesis Vivariensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese in France, based in Viviers (Ardèche ). It was founded in the 4th century and secularized in the course of the French Revolution. After his area had been added to the diocese of Mende, it was taken on October 6, 1822 back from this and established as a separate diocese in the ecclesiastical province of Lyon.
