Roman Catholic Diocese of Wallis et Futuna

The Diocese of Wallis and Futuna (Latin: Dioecesis Uveanus et Futunensis ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in the French overseas territory of Wallis and Futuna, based in Mata -Utu.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded with the Apostolic Constitution Fidei Quidquid the Apostolic Vicariate Wallis and Futuna on November 11, 1935 from annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate Zentralozeanien.

On June 21, 1966, was with the Apostolic Constitution Prophetarum voces to the diocese Wallis and Futuna collected and on 25 April 1974, gained its Latin name, which was originally Dioecesis Uallisiensis et Futunensis on.
