Roman Catholic Territorial Prelature of Cancún-Chetumal
The Territorialprälatur Cancún - Chetumal (Latin: Territorialis Praelatura Cancunensis - Chetumaliensis, Spanish: Prelatura de Cancún - Chetumal ) is a location in Mexico Roman Catholic Territorialprälatur based in Chetumal.
History
The Territorialprälatur Cancún - Chetumal was on May 23, 1970, through Pope Paul VI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Qui ad Beati Pauli from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Yucatán as Territorialprälatur Chetumal. The Territorialprälatur was the Archdiocese of Yucatán is a suffragan. On 20 December 1996, the Territorialprälatur Chetumal was renamed by the Congregation for Bishops with the decree Nupera urbs in Territorialprälatur Cancun Chetumal.
