Roman Josi

Roman Josi ( born June 1, 1990 in Bern ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who is since May 2010 at the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Roman Josi began his career as a hockey player in the youth of the SC Bern, for the first team, he made his debut in the National League A in the 2006/07 season. He also came in the same season to five appearances in the National League B for the Swiss U20 national team. The following season he played for both the SC Bern in the NLA, as well as for the U20 Junior and the Young- Sprinters Hockey Club in the NLB.

With the SC Bern the defender qualified in the 2007/ 08 season as the main round winner to participate in the qualifying tournament for the newly created Champions Hockey League, where he hit the HC Kosice and the Sinupret Ice Tigers with his team. Subsequently, different from Bern in the group stage of the CHL, where Josi in all four group matches was on the ice, scoring a goal.

On 28 May 2010 Josi signed a three - year contract with the Nashville Predators NHL franchise. In September 2010 he took part in the training camp of the Predators. Following the defender was sent to the farm team of the Milwaukee Admirals in the American Hockey League. To debut in the NHL came Roman Josi on 26 November 2011 at the game against the Detroit Red Wings, where he came on over twelve minutes of ice. His first goal succeeded Josi 10 December 2011 in a 3-2 win against the Anaheim Ducks.

For the duration of the NHL lockout in the 2012/13 season the defender was committed in September 2012 from his youth club SC Bern.

Since the 2013/2014 season, he is usually accompanied by Captain Shea Weber a defensive pair. Thus, Roman Josi, along with Shea Weber, the player with the most ice age at the Predators.

Internationally

For Switzerland Josi took part in the U20 World Junior Championships in 2007 and 2008, as well as the U18 World Junior Championships in 2007 and 2008 in part. In addition, he was in the squad for Switzerland at the U20 Junior B World Cup 2009, in which he reached with his team's promotion to the A group.

In addition, he was at the 2009 World Championships in Bern and in 2010 in Mannheim in the squad of the Swiss national team and played in all games.

At the World Championships in 2013 in Stockholm and Helsinki, he was again part of the national team and won the silver medal with this.
