Roman Lyashenko

Roman Jurjewitsch Ljaschenko (Russian Роман Юрьевич Ляшенко; born May 2, 1979 in Murmansk, Russian SFSR, † July 6, 2003 in Antalya, Turkey) was a Russian ice hockey player who is in during his career, among other things for the Dallas Stars and New York Rangers the National Hockey League played.

Career

Roman Ljaschenko began his career in 1995 with Torpedo Yaroslavl in the Wysschaja League, where he was until 1999 under contract. Already at the NHL Entry Draft 1997, the Dallas Stars selected him in the second round of the 52nd place for which he completed 139 NHL games. From 2002 to 2003, the Russian was 17- times for the New York Rangers on the ice. In addition, he was inducted into the farm team of the American Hockey League. In 2003 he was found dead in his hotel in Antalya, after he had committed suicide. He was buried in Yaroslavl.

Internationally

With the Russian U20 national novel Ljaschenko participated in the Junior World Championships in 1997, 1998 and 1999. In addition, he completed nine games at the 2002 World Cup, collecting two points scorer.
