Roman Starchenko
Roman Leonidovich Startschenko (Russian Роман Леонидович Старченко; born May 12, 1986 in Ust- Kamenogorsk, Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh professional ice hockey player who stands since 2008 at Barys Astana in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.
Career
Roman Startschenko began his career as a hockey player with Barys Astana, for whom he made his debut in the Kazakh Hockey Championship in season 2003/ 04. Then the attacker moved to their league rivals Kaszink Torpedo Ust -Kamenogorsk, with which he departed in the next three years, both in the Kazakh Cup and the League Wysschaja and Perwaja league. With his team he won the 2005 and 2007, the Kazakh Cup. For the 2008/09 season Startschenko moved to Barys Astana of the newly formed Kontinental Hockey League, for whom he has performed since then.
Internationally
For Startschenko Kazakhstan took part in the Division 1 of the U18 World Youth Championship in 2004 and the Division I at U20 World Junior Championships in 2005 and 2006 at junior level. In the senior level, he stood in the squad of his country at the World Championships Division I in 2008, 2009 and 2011 and 2013 and at the World Championships of the top division in 2006, 2010 and 2012. As top scorer with five goals and two assists he wore in 2013 significantly to chances of promotion of the Kazakhs in the top division at. In addition, he ran for Kazakhstan 2009 at the Olympic qualifiers for the Olympic Games in Sochi in the qualification for the Vancouver Games in 2010 and 2013.
