Rometta is a city in the province of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, with 6537 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Rometta located 30 km west of Messina. The inhabitants mainly work in agriculture and tourism.
The neighboring municipalities are Messina, Monforte San Giorgio, Roccavaldina, Saponara, Spadafora.
History
Romettas Year of foundation is unknown. The town was 965 as the last place in Sicily in the rule of the Arabs. Until the 19th century it was known as Rametta.
