Romolo Valli

Romolo Valli ( born February 7, 1925 in Reggio Emilia, † February 1, 1980 in Rome ) was an Italian actor.

Life

Valli graduated from law school in Parma in 1949, he had taken his father 's sake. But immediately afterwards he devoted himself to his passion, the drama, and joined the troupe Il Carozzone to Fantasio Piccoli on. In 1952 he moved to the Piccolo Teatro di Milano, with whom he also did a tour of South America; In 1954 he founded with several colleagues own troupe Compagnia deigiovani, which he remained connected until 1974.

In the late 1950s he began his film career, during which he worked with directors such as Vittorio De Sica, Luchino Visconti and Mario Monicelli. His roles he selected carefully; as appearances in genre films such as Non stuzzicate la zanzara or Todesmelodie are few and far between. In synchronous business Valli worked.

From the mid- 1970s he worked at the Teatro Eliseo in Rome and was the artistic director of the Festival dei Due Mondi. Valli died in a car accident after a theater performance. In his home town, the municipal theater was named after him.
