Romuli
Romulus (Hungarian Romoly ) is a municipality in the district of Bistrita-Nasaud in Romania.
Location
Romulus is located in northern Transylvania. 19 km northwest is the nearest small town Salistea de Sus.
History
The first name of the village was Stramba. This name was given to the village by a tributary of the River Sălăuţa called Izvorul Strâmbei ( Stramba source).
Population
In the town almost exclusively live Romanians. In the 2002 census, known from the then 1755 residents for five Hungarian, German and two for one on the Ukrainian nationality. In the village of Romulus himself lived 1330 inhabitants, and the remaining 425 in eingemeindeten place Dealul Ştefăniţei.
Traffic
By Romuli the major national road DN 17C runs. High up on the hillside closest train station on the railway line Salva- Viseu de Jos. After Cluj -Napoca and Sighetu Marmaţiei daily run three buses, according to Bistrita four buses.
